FAQ

1) Will Frog Legs fit my current wheelchair?
Yes. Frog Legs shock absorbers use industry-standard components which allow us to fit the caster barrel housings of more that 95% of all the chairs on the market. Call us at (800) 922-2129 -- Our staff will ask you a few easy questions and the results will be the same: a set of Frog Legs custom-designed for you and your chair.

2) Can I fit a wider wheel on Frog Legs?
Frog Legs are designed to accommodate two widths of wheels: 1" and 1½". However we suggest the wider 1½" wheel. Wider wheels have a snowshoe effect - they're less likely to sink into a softer surface, including carpet.  We've  designed our own wheels to accompany our shocks. Check our our EPIC soft roll for the best wheels on the market.

3) In what colors are Frog Legs available?
Frog Legs are available on-line in anodized black or silver aluminum.  You may choose your color upon ordering.  Additional colors are available by calling our customer service at 641-682-0220 or 800-922-2129.  Delivery times for these colors may vary based upon inventory availability.

4) Are Frog Legs easy to install?
Easy assembly instructions are available on-line  at Engineering. All models of Frog Legs Shock Absorbers install on standard wheelchairs in less than 15 Minutes, typically needing only a ¾" socket and a box-end wrench. If you intend to use your existing wheels with your Frog Legs you'll also need two 5/16th or 4mm Allen Wrenches to tighten the axle or a dealer will gladly help you install everything

5) Why are Frog Legs better then pneumatic tires?
Frog Legs and pneumatic (air-filled) tires both reduce the vibration. The disadvantage of pneumatic tires, however, include greater rolling resistance, flat tires at inopportune times, and the inability to "step over" larger obstacles the way Frog Legs do. Frog Legs with high resilient wheels roll easily, never go flat and allow the wheel to absorb some vibration.  In short, they provide a far superior ride -- we guarantee it!

6) Can I get Frog Legs for my power chair?
Yes, Big Rigs are compatibile to most front wheel drive power chair models.

7) How long will my Frog Legs last?
Our Frog Legs have two components: the forks and the polymer cushions:

Forks: Frog Legs forks are made of aircraft aluminum, making them extremely durable. Combine this with the "hinge and cushion" design, and they're virtually indestructible.

Polymers: the polymer cushions used in Frog Legs will last 5-7 years. Replacement polymers are available by calling customer service at (800) 922-2129. If you feel the cushions are not performing as they should, let us know and we'll send a free replacement set along with simple installation instructions.

8) I weigh 300 pounds. Can I use Frog Legs?

Frog Legs are designed to use a polymer calibrated for each rider's weight. For riders over 250 pounds, extra firm polymers are available.  Riders of lesser weight can achieve a comfortable ride also by utilizing a less stiff polymer. Simply check the proper weight range when ordering, and we'll outfit your Frog Legs with the proper polymer for the smoothest possible ride.

9) Won't Frog Legs add a great deal of weight to my chair?
No. In fact, in some cases Frog Legs will weigh less than your original castor forks - especially if your original forks are steel.
